Description

"Red Five standing by…"

3D print your own Star Wars X-Wing starfighter made from 3:1 scale replica of popular toy bricks.

Printing Guide

It is recommended to use the print profile I have provided to print this model. I can't guarantee that you will achieve the same success I have, but after several test prints and trial and error, I know this to work. I also recommend printing on a smooth surface PEI plate so your pieces are not textured.

Filament

The print profile is separated by color on each plate. You can use whatever filament you have on hand, but I used:

  • eSun PLA+ White
  • Bambu Lab Gray PLA Basic for the Light Gray
  • Sunlu Gray PLA for the Dark Gray
  • ZIRO Red PLA
  • Bambu Lab Transparent PETG Basic

Print Settings

The print profile is set up to print two wall loops and 10% infill on gyroid, however you can tweak to your liking.

Supports

Again, I recommend the settings I have in the Print Profile. Most parts can be printed without supports, as the Bambu bridges the pieces very well, but the ones that need them are already set up to be supported and also easily removable.

Assembly

Look at the diagram below to assemble. Pretty simple. Some parts fit great some are tight and some are loose, but overall it holds together.

That about covers it, I think… Happy printing and building!

Great model, the clips can be a little loose, but i just scuffed them up a bit to add a bit more friction and that did the trick. i didn't have a dark grey or clear filament but black easily replaced the dark grey and i found that it looks best when you replace the clear filament with your light grey one. I uploaded a profile for the A1 mini, there is no difference other than it is compatible with the A1 mini.

Thanks for the feedback! I'd love to see a pic! I also had problems fine tuning the clip tolerance. If it becomes an issue for other users, I will upload an alternate model with tighter clips. Thanks for the profile add for the A1 Mini.

Printed great. It seems like the variations that naturally occurred during printing caused a few pieces to be loose and a few tight, even during the same print with clones of the same part.

Yes. Replicating LEGO with 3D printing is very finicky. Parts that fit great in one color or brand, can be too loose or too tight in another. Thanks for the feeedback!

very cool model. This thing is huge lol. Only thing is that the supports are annoying to remove.
