Description

Using a 3D scanner I scanned the centre console section of my Ioniq 5 to create a custom fit bin. It has been designed to follow the angles at the back of the console for the most space.

The ribbs on the wall give the single wall thickness the needed extra strength to work.

I have tested this with PETG in vase mode to use as little material as possible and it is still going strong almost a year later. Tried it in PLA to begin with and it wasn't flexible enough.

Update: 13/04/2024

I was pointed out the model printed did not match the pictures. This was my fault as I uploaded an older version by mistake. This has now been fixed and the one in the pictures is what is printed. My apologies.

Update:16/04/2024

I have now uploaded a solid version of the model without the circular cutout that can be loaded into Bambu Studio. This will allow you to customise of thick the base and walls are in the slicer.

I printed this from Bambu Handy and was disappointed to find that the photos shared here don't completely match the model I printed. Such is the risk of blindly hitting print from the mobile app I suppose. Your photos show ribs along the entire perimeter of the model. The actual model only has ribs along two of the four faces. The un-ribbed faces bowed and warped quite a lot. I suspect you added the additional ribs to solve exactly this issue, then uploaded an older version of the model? Also, the bottom and sides aren't well connected for some reason - I can see light through the edge. Maybe I need to calibrate my K factor again...

Hi, Sorry about that just double checked and I selected the wrong file at upload, accidentally uploaded an old version. Not sure why your bottom and side are not connected though. I have now updated it with the correct model with the ribs all the way around.

@iRyanDesign - thanks so much for sharing the newer model! I had started trying to make the change myself but wasn't getting very far at all. I'll fiddle with my settings a bit before reprinting and give it another shot I'm picking up my ioniq 5 tomorrow afternoon - looking forward to having this print ready about the same time :)
