Description

As Ramadan approaches, I decided to design a simple yet sleek standing decorative sign! It prints very easily in two parts requiring no supports and even prints on the A1 mini. Be careful not to bend the text too much, it won't really break since its printed at a high temp but it will bend so be careful

The sign slots into its base and stands up nicely

Printined with sunlu silk gold & silver. Base printed in esun pla+ white. Feel free to print in colours you like and share when you do!

Use the non-recessed version so it will be printed upside down. The Text will look smoother. additionally you want to DEACTIVATE İRONİNG, as it ruins the corners (see pictures). when ironing is deactivated, it’s perfect though.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll see if I can update the print profile to disable ironing since it’s very specific to every printer and setup

Wish the text wasn't recessed, on textured plate the back actually looks a lot better - but can't flip on X axis because the text is recessed a bit. Trying to mess around with it in Fusion 360 but have no idea what I'm doing. Great work by the creator though! Love this!

Its an original design so I still have the fusion files, will take less than a minute for me to go and remove the recess so I'll do that and post a remix for you :)

The model is now updated. A new print profile added containing the non recessed text, STL also uploaded. No changes in printing settings. Hope you like it!

Amazing! I was actually just about to upload a remix where I modified yours and did this. I cut off the extra, but I also made some changes: - Increase infill to 15% and used Gyroid - Slowed down the initial layer to increase the shine since I'm doing it in reverse and on textured plate looks nicer/shinier with the bottom being the front :) - Best of all: I increased sizing quite a bit for the P1S/X1C - so you can now have a much bigger design! Happy to post my remix if you like ? Amazing design, I'm trying to figure out how to make a similar one but in reverse where the crescent is on the opposite end so I can have one on each side of my fireplace and the crescent facing each other!

Suggestion for quality improvements - print the front of your sign face down. It'll be much smoother.

Thanks for the suggestion, not possible with this model since the text is recessed further back than the crescent Its actually more shiny than the rear side that is printed onto the bed, since the inconsistencies cause a nicer shimmer, whereas the flat bed side doesn't do as well for this silk pla unfortunately

All one needs to do is mirror it along the X axis and it can be printed flat on the plate with the text reading correctly.

I tried that even before reading this comment. Unfortunately, no, since the text is recessed further back than the crescent like Jamal said. So when you flip it, you'd need supports for the text. @Jamal are you able to either provide the STLs for each separately or make the text flush with the rest of the crescent? On a textured plate the back ends up looking a lot more shiny / nicer than the front
