Description

The Saturn V rocket miniature model developed by NASA to take astronauts to the moon. Some details were omitted due to how small they were or poor results after slicing. Available in both multicolor and single color. The rocket can stand vertically without any support once assembled.

This model should fit all Bambu printers. You will need to move the model to the corner on the A1 mini to fit both the model and prime tower.

Update 3/14/24 - Added a stand to display the Saturn V rocket that can be found here.

Notes

The antenna is pretty small, be careful when removing from the kit. When pushing the antenna through the third stage, you can cut the tip off if needed. Do not cut the side that prevents the antenna from going through the third stage (the side that has an extra extrusion closest to the Saturn V label). Once the antenna is through the third stage, you can give it light tug to secure it in place.

Turned out great and my kid enjoyed putting it together. Broke a few tabs assembling it, but nonissue with the model itself. Thank you!

I'm sorry to hear you had some issues with the assembly, there are some standalone parts you can print if you want to try and assemble it as a single piece.

Thank you! I didn't go back to check that and just superglued it together. I will keep that in mind when I make another one!

Rating this high because it really is awesome but have printed 3 times (2 X @ 100% and 1 time at 125%) and on all of them, the small clamp pictured in step 5 breaks apart. Everything else is fine, just that piece. I'm failry new to 3D printing so not sure if I can do something on my end to help with that. Thanks for the model and would love to see more NASA craft!

Thank you, I'm glad you like it! Did the small clamp break during assembly? I haven't seen that issue, but I have seen different filaments make it easier or harder to fit the pieces together. I'll upload a profile without the kit card in case anyone wants to print extra parts without having to reprint the whole model.

Yes, it was during assembly. I printed with PLA Matte. I didn’t have any issues putting the parts together. I might try PETG sometime when I have all of the right colors. Just not sure that will work in my AMS. Being able to print individual parts would be great. Thanks!

I tried clipping the corners off the tabs to help them fit together a little better. My youngest son is a NASA freak so he just plays with them in the “stages” lol.

A1 mini with AMS - flushing tower(see pic) infill as well as support LH:0.2mm, W:3, 10% infill
Printed well, pieces were very tight but the power went out mid print so that may be the cause.

It is a pretty tight fit, I tried to make it easier to fit together and wasn't able to find a better solution. I hope you enjoyed it!

Great print, I printed it at 150 % to maximise its size on the buildplate, I think you can go up a % or 2 more.
