I was inspired by dirtsky's mod for the K1 so I built a new model for the K1 Max. I can confirm that it mounts correctly to my K1 Max (Hopefully Creality's tolerances are good enough that it fits on your printer).
You'll need root access to your K1 Max. Add the 6mm M4 heatset insert into the large hole on the Mounting plate. Remove the screws from your BTT filament sensor. Add the plate to the back using the original screws (replacing the old BTT plate that was removed). Remove the top two FHCS screws in the upper rear of the printer (near where the PTFE tube comes out). You'll also need to remove the hexagon PTFE guide located on the back of the printer, I used a pair of needle nose pliers to squeeze the pegs holding it in place from the inside and pushed it out of the back. Put an M4 8mm or 10mm screw into the printed washer (I used a 10mm as it would have a bit better engagement). From inside the printer where you removed the hexagon guide, place the washer assembly with the screw and thread the M4 into the heatset insert in the back of the mounting plate. Replace/Cut your PTFE tubing and remove the original filament sensor if you wish. I ended up drilling a small hole in the back of the cable channel for the cable (similar to the K1, as otherwise I would've needed to route it through the PTFE hole or underneath the chassis). Follow dirtsky's post for wiring instructions and printer configuration.
