3D model description

This is the Russian MS-3 (MC-3), a High-Explosive (HE), circular, plastic-bodied, pressure-release, Anti-Lift-Device (ALD) which is similar in appearance to the Russian PMN except that the MS-3 has a small nipple centered on top of the black rubber cover.

The mechanism of the PMN landmine has been reversed in the MS-3 so that the removal of 4kg of pressure will release a spring-loaded firing pin to strike the detonator.

The MS-3 was specifically designed to serve as an Anti-Lift-Device (ALD) for the Russian OZM-72 bounding fragmentation landmine and has the same diameter, to fit underneath the landmine when buried, however, it can also be used as Booby-Trap (BTP) other landmines, including Anti-Vehicle (AV) landmines.

It has also been used to BTP other objects, such as stacks of ammunition.

The MS-3 has a delay arming feature (lead shear strip) to allow the user time to camouflage the landmine and leave.

The firing device (FD) has enough metal content to locate it using metal detectors under most field conditions.
