3D model description

UPDATES: 3/6/24 Added Rusty to Zip File
UPDATES: 3/25/24 Added Socks, Pom Pom, & Indy

This listing is for the full bundle of all 10 carefully crafted models. I'll be updating this listing as more are added. The one-time fee will get you access to the current 10 and you will be notified as more are added. There will be no additional charge for more models as the designs are completed and uploaded to this master file. I will also be working on a more comprehensive approach for listing the filaments used but as a backup, you will find more details in the individual per model listing.

These models were designed using Parametric blending for color-matching, a very cool trick done by backing thin layers with other colors to achieve multiple shades. For example, you will see 4 shades of orange in the Bingo print and the same for the blue in Bluey. That is from one single spool of Hatchbox orange and Polymaker for the blue. The nameplates show the true color of the filament.

It's a bit like Hueforge but more precise, surgical, and deliberate as the geometry of the model is designed around this technique.

The designs are intended to be printed face down for the best results. Use the layer-by-layer preview and you can see how the blending magic happens.

While printable on pretty much any machine with a large enough build volume, these files include a Bambu Lab Studio (Slicer) 3MF file for simple printing if you use a Bambu Lab machine. Just assign your colors, slice, and print.

If not on a Bambu or other multi-material machine you will need to build in a lot of manual filament changes in your slice (sometimes more than 1 per layer) but it is doable with some patience.

These have been a passion project for our daughter's room and represent a ton of work hours. May they bring joy to you and your family as well. Thank you for downloading.

3D printing settings

When you download this bundle you will receive a zip file which you will need to unzip. Within each Character folder, you will find a Bambu Lab 3mf file. If you own one of these machines you'll be able to open the 3mf file with Bambu Studio, assign colors, and print.

If not, you will find a folder of all of the individual SVGs which you can import as a group into your slicer and assign colors based on the STL names.

GLOBAL Description (All Bluey Models):

If using a Bambu Lab Machine: Simply open the attached 3MF file in Bambu Studio, and assign colors found here in this per model description and or the individual STL file names. You can certainly get away with substitutions if you don't have the recommended colors with one caveat....

The blending effects simply do not work with most matte and silk filaments unless these are used as a backer. Matte or silk colors will pass through standard filament but not the other way around. Matte and silks are too opaque (non-transparent) for this. Standard PLA for best results.
