Description

Summary

First of all, this is just a quick and dirty solution (the problem is simple, I'm too lazy to crank it by hand every morning), I will definitely upgrade it (making a motor housing to be quieter, hiding electronics), but using it with a drill was still an issue, as you needed to hold it.

WARNING! Depending on your grind coarsness and the resistance of your grinder, different motor strength might be recommended. With further testing I noticed it struggles (and sometimes completely stops) when grinding espresso fine, So I will try it with different motors to find a reliable but fast enough solution. Until that, please keep in mind that the motor might not be powerful enough.

USE WITH CAUTION, AT YOUR OWN RISK!

It works with grinders that have an outer diameter of ~48 mm (+/- few mm is tolerable do to flexibility of mount), and pentagonal shaft, but feel free to modify it according to your needs. Also you need a motor (or modify the connecting shaft accordingly) like that. I used a 12V 100 RPM one (will test 200RPM soon), this one works, you can test it, but with caution, because high rpm might burn your grounds and it can even damage your grinder.

The motor controller I used: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33013906540.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.0.0.21ef1802hczlaF

You can use any other motor controller (just make sure you have the proper voltage, else you might burn down the motor).

I printed the shaft with the bigger part flat on plate, no supports needed, didn't have issues with strength yet, but layers might separate at high force.
Motor mount is printed with bigger side flat on plate, supports needed for the top part. You need 2 pieces of M310 screws for motor mounting and 2M3 screws and nuts for grinder connection.

Should be okay from any material, check motor, as it might get hot after more usage.
