Description

Must be printed in PETG if using for AMS lite

Photo included of my similiar model that has an RFID chip installed- I dont have a spare one at this time to add to this model.

Before throwing out your empty cardboard inserts from Bambu refills- pull that RFID chip out of it and glue it inside this nifty little device.

This adapter can be used in the AMS and the AMS lite(again must be in petg for AMS lite or it wont be snug). Hatchbox version coming soon, as well as some other brands!

Glue in a RFID from the empty spool- Once it is on a spool- dont forget to bend the tag at the crease towards the inside of the spool if using AMS to keep it from sticking out.

If using this in AMS- Print in PLA or PET-G

just drop it in the spool and load the spool into slot 3- go to your slicer and do the exact same thing that you would do normally and tell it what type of material you have loaded and what color- After you have done that repeat in slot 2 so that the AMS recognizes this adapter in each position. If you skip this it wont read it in 2 of the slots until you tell it, but after that- you will be all set. I suggest printing this in the color of roll you intend to use it for so next time all you do is drop it in a new roll and the ams already knows the type and color. If you want the added bonus of using it as a spool weight- change infill and wall overlap settings to 100% to increase weight. It will be a tighter fit if you print in pet-g but then you can use in both AMS and AMS lite!

If using AMS lite- Print in PET-G

This device converts the Sunlu spool down to 55mm and so long as you print in pet-g it will be snug enough when inserted to not slip. I have set the print profile to have the seam on the back side- it will have to be sanded in order to slide in. After you have sanded the seam off- glue in your rfid strip from an empty refill spool and push it into the roll! Now you have converted your Sunlu roll to fit the AMS lite and identify as a Bambu roll. Once that is done- load the spool and tell the slicer what type of filament and color you have loaded. There are two chips in that strip for a reason and you need both- After you tell the slicer what you have loaded it will recognize that spool as how you have identified it on that side of the AMS lite ”tree" - If you load it on the other side, you will need to tell the slicer again- but the next time you load the roll, the ams will recognize the new roll details. When that roll is empty- pull it out and add to a new roll!
