Legend of Zelda - Link Silhouette - 7 Colour

I Designed a friction Fit Frame that can be found here for 200x200 Hueforges

If you're looking for a commercial license to sell my prints, or to make a custom design request, please head over to my Patreon where those options are available: https://www.patreon.com/CanadianGamer3DPrintsEDM

NOTE: There are two print profiles - One is set up for a green / gold colour palette, and the other is set up with Blue / Gold to match my Zelda print at someone's request. The Layer height changes occur at different heights in each profile. Make sure you are using the layer height instructions for the colour you want to print.

This is the first Nintendo Themed hueforge that I've made, but ill add others to this collection as I make them:

https://makerworld.com/@CanadianGamer/collections/835925

I have assigned the model to have a variable layer print height, which means that the first 4 layers of the model will print with a 0.16 layer height, and switch to a 0.08 layer height for the details. If you use my uploaded print profile this will save you time on your print as the first 0.64mm is just to provide stability to the print for display. This means that the layer heights listed below in my printing instructions will not match my print profile (they will be off by 3) but the mm heights will still match! Do not change the print profile to match or it will not look the same!

If you resize the model make sure you do NOT scale the Z axis or the print colours will not be in the same position

Please post a picture of your printed copy! I'd love to see it!

Great print! Thanks for the advice on how to print 7 color on a single AMS. FYI, after assigning the colors, I removed the spool in AMS spot 4. However, it won't let you start the print if there is no spool and you have assigned a color in the slot. I had to start the print them immediately remove the color in slot 4 after starting the print so that it would stop after doing the first 3 colors.

Oh that makes sense! thanks for sharing that! And for rating, i'm glad that you enjoyed the print! I've updated my comment below to reflect pulling the filament out of slot 4 after starting to force the pause!

Beautiful and prints nicely. But I strongly recommend using matte white PLA (or at least one that has low TD) because I had to re-print mine as the first print came out more beige than white due to the yellow layer beneath ;-)

Thank you for rating and sharing these pictures! I've shown similar pictures in other designs (and as a matter of fact have a whole spool of white that I can't use for hueforge because of that translucence!) For my designs matte whites always have the best turn outs

This is awesome. How do you print with more then 4 colors in a single AMS or is this designed and your are running more then 1 AMS?

You can print more than 4 colours with a single AMS, but I did this one with 2 AMS (I set the second one up yesterday and this was the first print I designed for it). There are a few threads that talk about the procedure, but basically what you want to do is assign the first four colours to slots 1/2/3/4 on your AMS and colours 5/6/7 to slots 1/2/3 again. When you start the print pull the filament from slot 4, print until 1/2/3 are done and swap in 4/5/6/7 during the forced pause.

oh that’s neat. do you have to watch for when to pause or can that be programed some how?

Replying to @RobTanguay :
If you leave slot 4 empty it will automatically pause because its empty. But you can program pauses in the slicer as well. That's what enables people without an AMS to still print hueforges
