Description

The MSM Nomad uses an arca swiss adapter to attach the tracking mount to most quick release clamps, the tracking mount also utilizes a laser pointer threaded hole in one of the corners. The laser pointer hole is obscured by camera gear when your payload is loaded in certain orientations, a design flaw. This new arca swiss adapter allows one to use any laser pointer that is 20mm or smaller diameter and mounts it in a position that will not be obscured by a payload. I use this laser pointer that allows precise collimation easily:

I will be creating a vixen plate style version as well. The pass-through for the laser pointer has a hole in the side that allows for an m3 size bolt or screw to be self threaded, securing the laser pointer to the tube if it's smaller than 20mm, the only additional part you might need. The laser pointer linked above fits precisely and doesn't need a securing bolt/screw. The front hole matches the bolt in the lower corner of the Nomad body, covered by a small piece of rubber glued to the top, just remove the rubber cover with tweezers and then unscrew the bolt, use the same bolt to secure the adapter to the body at that point. The two bolts used to hold the original arca swiss plate are also reused to secure the bottom of this adapter to the mount.

I have not printed this on a Bambu printer, I printed it on my Ender S1 with PETG at 50% cubic infill, 3 walls, layer height of 0.2mm with a 0.4mm nozzle. I printed at 70mm/s, 10% fan, and supports touching the build plate only with a vertical orientation (front hole facing down on the plate).
