Can bottom cover to prevent metal cans (particularly shaving gel ones) from leaving rust stains in wet or damp locations
Many shaving gel (and foam) cans are made out of metal. If they are stored in damp or wet locations like the shower, the bottom of the cans can rust and that can leave rust stains on your shower or bathroom tile.
I got tired of cleaning off rust stains off of my shower tiles, so I made these simple ‘bottom caps’ / can covers to slip onto the metal shaving gel containers and keep the metal bottoms from touching the tile or other surfaces.
Snug fit means the can cover won't come off normally until you are ready to remove it and place it on the next can when the current one is empty.
Drainage hole and channels along the underside ensure that any water that gets into the cover will drain away.
These models fit cans like these from Edge and Gillette. It seems to fit many different cans which have ~60mm width. If it doesn't fit a particular can, you can likely scale it up or down a little in the slicer.
If you find other brands/cans these fit, let me know by posting a make and I'll note them here.
Suggested Filaments: PETG or TPU. PLA is fine as well, but it is brittle and can break more easily if dropped with a heavy can attached.
Does not need supports - the width of the underside water channels is only 2mm and can be easily bridged as you can see from the photo showing the underside. Print it in the provided orientation and no supports needed.
