Description

*** UPDATED - April 2023: Euro version Added (In Printables)***

*** UPDATED - December 2023: For Canadian money: If you still have pennies, they will go in the dimes tray. Then you can use the extra tray to separate them. (In Printables)

*** UPDATED - March 2024: Japanese version added as requested.

*** UPDATED - March 2024: United Kingdom version added.

Please note that the Japanese and UK versions were tested with fake money only for now. Comments would be greatly appreciated!

This coin sorter is compact for storage yet big enough to sort many coins. I created this model for the scout association in my neighborhood.

The biggest tray has a circumference of 216 mm (US: 217 mm, Euro: 205 mm, JPN: 210 mm, UK: 220 mm).

I suggest using the following minimum settings for the print:

Top/Bottom Layers to 4.
Infill density : 20
Infill type: Gyroid/Cubic

You can find the Fusion360 file on Printables.

In Fusion 360, in the custom parameters, you can change :

  • The diameter of each coin if you need to adjust them for your country's coins.
  • The height of each tray if you want something for more or less coins.
  • The starting diameter (from the bottom) is to adjust to your printer bed size. If you change that, you may need to modify each "Regular Pattern" to add or remove holes.

Be sure to download the version for your country.

In the photos, you see the Canadian version. I tested the US version only with smaller test trays, so I don't have a photo of this full version. Feel free to upload yours!

For the Euro version, I also tester tested on small test trays. And because I didn't find Euro coins near me, I “printed” false euro coins! It would be greatly appreciated if you could indicate in the comments whether the system works well for European currencies.

Works good , but too many Pennies and dimes don’t go through.

Thank you for your comment. It's a good idea to assign a different color to each tray. I have a question about the black tray. I noticed that there seem to be two types of coins in it - silver and gold. Is it normal or the tray is not sorting the coins properly?

Replying to @Marvin_A :
sorter works really good with a few coins , but not when using in bulk( a lot of coins). sorts really slow . but still cool. gold coins are dollar coins about same size as quarters so sorting good

Years ago, one of the first things I designed & printed were stackable coin sort trays. Mine however did not taper and stack inside each other. This is genius! 👍
