3D model description

This is the Russian PTAB-2.5KO, a High-Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT), Dual-Purpose (DP), fin-stabilized submunition with a Self-Destruct (SD) after-impact mechanism intended to defeat armored targets such as tanks and infantry Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFVs).

The submunition has six spring-deployed fins and an arming impeller.

The PTAB-2.5KO has built a stand-off for the Shaped-Charge (SC) Explosively Formed Jet (EFJ) to form into its body.

The submunition uses a mechanically-armed, impact (I-351A) fuze or an impact-initiated with Self-Destruct (SD) backup (I-351AM) fuze.

When the submunition is released from its container into the slip-stream the folded fins spring out into the deployed position which causes the submunition to orient itself to the ground and start the rotation of the wind-arming vane to complete the arming sequence.

Once armed an inertia striker initiates the primary detonator which explodes the main charge, if this fails a short pyrotechnic delay detonates the subunition in 7 to 10 seconds.
