Description

Are you tired of taking several hours to print a HueForge print, only to discover the filament colour blending didn't quite work out as you expected? Now you can save hours by first printing a staircase instead!

Instuctions for use:

  • Set up your image in HueForge as per your normal workflow.
  • Generate a staircase by modifying the SCAD parameters base_layer_height, layer_height and total_height to match your project. I also change the length parameter to match my project.
  • Import the staircase STL into your slicer of choice, use the HueForge project's description to set up your layer colour changes.
  • Print! Which typically takes around 20-30 minutes.

Once completed, you can open the STL in HueForge and compare! Not only will you be able to see and compare the colour blending, it can also help fine-tune your filament TD parameters.

Pro tip 1: If you open the original project in HueForge, then immediately open the staircase STL, all the sliders will still be set correctly.

Pro tip 2: Save the slicer 3mf project with staircase and colour changes. You can import your HueForge project's STL into this 3mf and the colour changes will already be in place!
