3D model description

As an archer, my thumbs would get really sore using roofing nails which were common on our range because they're so cheap. Also, some bales are very dense and hard to push the pins into or are shot out and won't hold the pin. So I wanted to make a pin that was less painful to use and did its job. Another feature added was to make the pins fit into each other for storage and to also prevent them from punching holes in your quiver or archery case. I hope you enjoy these!

Additional Supplies
1) Super Glue
2) Split-proof siding nails. Size 8d 2-1/2" Ring Shank

Assembly Instructions:
Recommended to practice placing the parts together before gluing
1) Add a drop of glue into the center hole.
2) Insert the nail and push into the side. You'll likely feel the nail head 'click' into place.
3) Insert the key to fill the hole.

3D printing settings

Size (mm) = 28.9 x 25.9 x 25.9
Printing = FDM
Material = PLA (but others work as well)
Orientation = rotate so that the sides are flat on the bed. It is also best to have it rotated so that the small holes are on top as pictured. For the keys, I print them standing up.
Layer Height = 0.2mm
Walls = 2
Infill % = 20%
Infill Pattern = Gyroid or Cubic
Combing = All
Support = Yes, Touching Buildplate

I generally print four pins at once. I set my printer to print one piece at a time to avoid additional retractions. I then print four keys separately. Keys I have it print all at once though and just place them close together.
