Description

This rugged box can be locked with the use of the tumbler key. Quarter turn to the right unlocks and key cannot be removed until in the locked position.

The latch fits tight and needs a bit of force to get in. After latch is seated glue the latch cover on in its slot.

I used 5mm dowel rods for the hinge. Cut to 29mm long. I picked up a multi size pack from my local Dollar store in their craft section

Other Issues:As a box, this works great and all the parts printed well. However, the locking mechanism doesn't actually do anything. The latch has such a short overhang with rounded corners that applying any force at all will just allow it to rotate slightly backwards to open the lid. Even if the latch did work, even a pencil could be used to rotate the lock so the key is kind of superfluous.

thank you for the reply and rating. I'm sorry it didn't meet your needs. I will try to redesign it with a more intricate locking mechanism. It was originally designed not to hold anything of any value due to it being a plastic that can easily be broken open but more of an art piece that's functional. please check out my other prints.
