Description

I made sakura coasters recently which you may find here, and i though, heyt, let's make a place where you can store them. I was inspired by the design with monstera coasters, so i made the branches so you can attach the coasters onto them via magnets.

 

Just place the coasters back onto the branches when you don't need them and you'll have a cute 3D printed spring-themed decor!

 

Things that you'll need:

  • 10 magnets with 6mm diameter and 1mm thickness. Make sure that the poles are correct when you glue them onto the flowers/branches.
  • super glue

 

Sakura flowers (coaster)

I made the coasters in 2 sizes: A bigger one which is about 90mmx4mm and the smaller one which is about 60mmx2mm. You can place up to 5 coasters on the branches. Although the middle length branch can fit the bigger ones, you may want to use smaller coasters.

I purposedly make the branches to fit bigger and small ones so the “bouquet” would look more interesting.

 

You can fully customize the color of the flowers since each part of the flower is a single part. Just go to Object and change the filament colors.

 

I recommend changing the wall generator to “Arachne” when printing the flowers.

Branches

The branches come in 3 lengths: short (for 1 big coaster), middle-length (for 2 small coasters), and long (for 1 big coaster and 1 small coaster).

There are 0 tolerances between the base of the branches and the recesses, so they will fit in snuggly (you need to apply some force to insert them). However, if you still want to adjust the arrangement of the flowers, you can still do it by wiggling it and rotating it carefully.

 

Make sure to deburr the base of the brances so they'll fit in the recesses nicely.

 

I printed the branches with the tree support, 10% infill. If you want a cleaner print, you might wanna use PETG as support.

 

Vase

I made the vase in 2 designs. You can make your own vase if you want. The important thing is the hole has to be 95mm. You'll also need to make a ridge of about 2mm thick around the inside of the vase.

 

The insert has a tolerance of 0.2mm, so it has a nice wiggle room. So you can remove it and place it back again easily, ideal for storage purposes.

hey! i love these and, i was going to make them but i noticed in the slicer they flowers take like, 30-40 filament swaps. and i realized its because the design goes all the way through, so even in the middle of the flower where nobody can see, its changing the filament 3 times per layer to continue the design. is there any way you could make it so that, just the top and bottom few layers have the design? and then the inside is 1 solid colour? i tried doing it myself in bambu studio but i could t get it to work. just an idea! it could get the filament changes from 40 down to like 10 or so :)

Hi there! thanks for checking out my design. What i would do is to change everything to 1 color, like for example, white, then use the paint tool to color only the top layers (the bucket fill tool is the easiest to do this). It would reduce filament changes to 10-15 depending on how many colors you use, though. I hope this workaround will help to save some filament and time :)

SO, I tried doing exactly that using the bucket and it doesn't just do the top layer. as soon as I click on a spot to paint it paints it all the way down through the inside of the model and I couldn't figure out how to avoid that

that's weird, it shouldnt do that, though. It should only paint the top layer. Of course, if you slice it, you can see that it will also print the color a few layers beneath it, i guess this is generated by the slicer to get optimal result. But, i made another print profile for the flowers so that now there is a base beneath it. It will only change filament on the top layers. You can try it out, but maybe print one flower first to see how it goes.
