My wife wanted a soft boiled egg the other day and this got my mind thinking on what I could come up with to make this task a little easier, not that it's hard in the first place but anyway here is my offering.

The egg I used for dimensions was of the Large variety, so this will work better with Large eggs.

When you have actually boiled an egg for 4.5 minutes then immerse in cold water to stop the cooking process you would usually place the egg in a cup and proceed to bash the top of it with the back of a spoon and crudely spoon the top of the egg off.

I have seen online some egg cracker type Gadgets and some work-ish some don't work at all, I designed a prototype first and that work and this model is the 2nd iteration.

The idea is that you hold the dome of the cracker on top of the egg pressing down and then pull up the knob and let go 2 or 3 times until you see an outline of where the dome has cut into the shell, then get a knife and go round the cut to release the top of the egg, that one part done, the next thing to do is dunk the toast soldiers into the egg, there is going to be some spillage and for this reason I have designed this funky egg cup with not only chicken motifs around the cup but also a drip tray to catch any overflow when dunking, job done!

All components are on the 3mf file but I printed the knob separate at 100% infill for added weight.

Nice little project with a hint of fun to it but it works, the drip tray did it's it job and the cracker well? It's is a cracker!
