Description

Ping Pong Desk Launcher - A Fun Toy for Your Desk

If you're looking to add something fun to your desk, here is a little catapult that can launch anything up to the size of a ping pong ball using a fun mechanical lever. Maybe you want to take out some frustration and crumple up a ball of paper and shoot it in the trash can, or if you just need some mid-day amusement. You can print all of this in a single-plate build, or you could get creative and print the parts in different colors for more dynamic fun.

This is a great companion to the mini desk game for the filament purge contest below, which is a fun way to use your filament purges.

Putting this together is a snap! I would recommend looking at the image below and assembling the pieces together as shown in the exploded view.

The larger pegs are shown in blue, and the smaller pegs are yellow in the image below.

Great model! Printed in PLA. No real issue with the print other then one peg that got loose from the built plate with like 4 layers left. Easy enough to just reprint that in peg. Works awesome. mom was already targeted by the youngest and it did take long for them to dial in the distance. Thanks for posting.

Great design. It was easy to print and assemble and works well. It would be fun to have one that can throw a lot farther as well

Many thanks for your kind feedback! I hope to have a future version that can throw even further. I guess it kind of depends on how hard you press down, but I could see creating a slightly larger one or even using rubber bands. if you don’t mind, please give the print profile a review to let others know it printed well. Have a great day!

Strength Issue:the clips broke and it didn’t shoot well

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for trying out the ping pong launcher. I’m really sorry to hear about the issue with the clips. This is the first I’m hearing of this problem, and I’ve made sure to test the design thoroughly and printed multiple times myself. Material strength can indeed vary, and I wonder if that might have been a factor here. If you’re up for it, I’d love to work with you to figure out what went wrong and ensure you have a great experience. Could you tell me more about the material you used and how it broke? That way, we can troubleshoot together and improve the design if necessary.

I’m not sure how I could help but I printed the whole thing in Bambu pla and when I put the clips on they either snapped or flew off
