3D model description

Bias lighting LED holder

I wanted a DIY ambilight/bias lighting setup for my displays. Every installation guide shows cutting the LED strip for each side you plan on covering. I didn't want to cut anything, or even use the 3M adhesion on the back of the strips. This is for WS2811 strip with 5050 SMD LEDs. If WS2812/WS2812B are the same dimensions, then this design should work for those as well.

This design is for you if:
- don't want to cut anything
- don't want to solder anything
- want better light beam spread (vs direct mounting to back of panel)

There are two versions with two variations each:
- IP20 (no coating of any kind, very thin LED strip) : 45 degree angle + flat
- IP30 (LEDs covered in epoxy) : 45 degree angle + flat

The holders are designed to slide on through the end. If your wire already has the power cable connected to the front, you would start sliding the holders through the end of the LED strip. Double-sided tape to hold the pieces on the display.

For the corners let the LEDs bend naturally. Avoid sharp angles as to not damage the LEDs (especially thin IP20 strips).

Some back of panels may already have a curve on them, for that I included a flat version of the holder. My Samsung TV has a flat top and bottom, and curved on left and right side.
