Introducing cover for Meta Quest 3 headset, I'm calling as Dust and scratch Shield for this headset lenses. Actually this is my first learning project of Surface modelling and sculpting. I didn't wanted to do something useless just for learning but make something in my opinion useful for me and maybe some other people. And as I got this VR headset I decided to try to make this cover. Job was much harder as I thought as was hard to get a right shape. But after a lots of mistakes and tonne of printed and dumped prototypes - finally I got a result I'm satisfied. Yes it still is not perfect but sits in place nicely enough and do the job.
Of course if you have a Bag or enclosure you don't need it, but for those who just keep his/her device on Table or shelf, I think it is not bad to cover inside. At least I found dust getting on lenses and I want to clean them (have any physical contact to them) as less as possible.
Ok. As usual I have made 2 versions of this cover:
1. One piece solid one. It is sturdiest one, but for printing not a easiest. And you will have to use a quite a lot of supports, what can cause rough surface in supported spots.
2. And splitted in half version. (I prefer this one) No Supports needed here, but you will need some glueing job here. To make a bond stronger I have done 2 square dowels here and 3 spots where you can use a 9-10mm long filament piece. Just put everything together using Superglue or some you like to use on your desired filament. That it.
Enjoy
