Description

I redesigned the ARC rear panel to incorporate my spool holder as well as fit tigher to the frame to help support the load. It is a direct replacement for the original but also uses an additional 2 bolts for better clamping to the frame. This will work with a top cover of up to 5mm. This design has been printed and tested by an ARC user (Thankyou!)

Please see my non ARC version for photos of the arm.

I don't have much room around my P1P as im building it in a display cabinet and so set about creating a spool mount for the top of the frame which also allowed feeding from the front. This will easily hold 2x 1Kg spools aslong as it is printed correctly. Most standard 1Kg spools should fit, you may need to create a spacer for those with a large center bore to ensure clearance over top cover. The design does not impede on any tool head clearances at the rear of the frame (Nightmare)

I printed the arm and load bar with adaptive layer height, 6 walls 40% cubic infill. Other pieces should be solid at 6 walls.

PLEASE STRESS TEST YOUR ASSEMBLY HOLDS WELL BEFORE PLACING ANY SPOOLS ON IT!!!

Requirements:

  • Minimum PETG for heat resistance
  • ARC Requirements such as cable chain, passthrough & magnets etc.
  • Y Splitter - Any should work but i can confirm this design

Hardware:

  • 3x M4x6x6 Heat Set Insert
  • 3x M4x10 Bolts (Hex for easier install)
  • 5x M10 PTFE Connector (3 for Y splitter)
  • Glue (or melt with iron)
  • PTFE tubing

Assembly:

  1. Install M4 Insert into Arm under the hexagon
  2. Install 2x M4 Inserts into Clamp
  3. Locate and bolt Load Bar to Arm
  4. Install M10 PTFE connectors into the 2x PTFE Holders
  5. Glue PTFE holders into the top of the Arm base with the PTFE Conectors facing the rear
  6. Install rear section into the ARC enclosure
  7. Slide Clamp inside the frame lining up 2 notches at the front and bolt through frame
  8. Install PTFE tubes & Y Splitter (I removed the floating screw from the original PTFE join)

Please post a make :) If anyone would allow me to use their make in the images that would be much appreciated!
