Description

Heyho

Here I have a completely 3D printable pulley for you!

I recently designed an attachment for my clothesline (which also works great!) and of course the idea came up to simply use a pulley! Previous designs I found online always needed extra parts or didn't look very sturdy.

So I designed my own solution and tested it for you!

There are 3 different versions:

  1. Easy to print pulley

A quick printed version where there is only 1 main part. Due to the slightly thinner suspension, this version fits well into most hooks or can also be attached with a rope. The disadvantage is that it is less stable than the other versions due to the print orientation. Nevertheless, it is more than sufficient for most tasks!

  1. Strong pulley

This version is particularly solid and can be printed even more stably thanks to the optimized alignment. After printing, simply put the 2 halves together with the small pin in the middle and after inserting the roller, the version is sufficiently stable.

If you prefer, you can also put the two halves together with a little glue.

  1. Pulley for eyelets

This version can also be used in combination with eyelets, where the two previous versions cannot simply be used. However, you must first assemble the individual parts on the eyelet. The halves should not be glued together! Unless you don't want to remove it from the eyelet!

Scalability

Since all 3 variants are completely 3D printed, you can also scale them "at will"! So make them bigger or smaller! But always keep an eye on the tolerances and the perimeters!

Printing tips:

You should use as many perimeters as possible (6 Perimeter should be enough with the given size). Infill at 100% brings the remaining stability. PLA is probably sufficient for short loads. For continuous loads, I would recommend PETG or other stable materials.

Post processing:

As the friction between the 2 parts of the roll naturally increases with higher loads, some oil must be added. I simply used some chain oil from my bike for this. To make it easier to add the oil, I constructed 2 small openings on each side of the wheel. Simply pour in some oil here, move the wheel back and forth a little and then remove any excess oil.

Slicing Tipps:
If you are struggling with some parts you can separate them into single objects and scale them up/ down a little to get a perfect fit!

Have fun!

Muy buena impresion, en mi caso la tolerancia iba bastante ajustada y en vez de aceite, lubrique con grasa, desde entonces rueda mucho mas fino

The center part of the pulley took several different prints to finally get it to work and move. Meant to click 4 not 3 will update it in a moment.

Very nice. I don't have a photo, but it's a fantastic design. What I'm really wondering is what would be it's weight rating :)
