Description

I'm a total newbie to the world of model rockets.

I've watched a lot of videos on creating my own rocket fuel, but thought seeing as i'm so new it's best to go with a commercial purchased motor to start with.

So i designed this rocket to be able to replace the 18mm by 70mm purchased motors Picture included above.

  1. The motor housing fits inside the fins, turns to lock.
  2. The main body is a press fit (Sand as required) to the motor
  3. Ejection Wad protects the parachure from the heat. File/sand to fit loosely.
  4. I'll probably glue in the nose cone.
  5. There are holes in the base/Main/ejection wad for connecting them all together and for attaching the parachute.

I have designed an ejection Wad that sits on top of the motor and takes the force when the 3rd stage of the motor goes off. This way the parachute is protected and a new Wad can be printed when it wears out. I recommend printing the Wad in PETG CF to take the heat.

I have never launched a rocket until now. As soon as my motors arrive i will be testing. My aim is to have this modular so it can be extended for payloads as required.
