Description

After only 6 month of light usage my Eryone M2 dryer box started to make extreme noises. As the fan is the only movable part in the box, it was pretty easy to find the villain.

The 4020 blower fan that is used in the box, or more precisely it bearing, got defective. Unfortunately Eryone does not offer spare parts and it is nearly impossible to find a highe(er) quality 4020 blower fan on the market.

Therefore I decided to try out a 5015 blower fan that I alread had lying around at home. Indeed it fits pretty nicely inside the box. The only issue is the mounting of it.

While the 4020 fans have four mounting points in every corner of the fan, the 5015 typically only has two mounting points on the opposite corners of the fan. So you would only have one hole to attach it to the box, which would not work out.

I therefor designed a small adapter plate that can attach a 5015 blower fan to the M2 dryer box instead of a 4020 fan.

The adapter plate is screwed to the M2 chassis by a small M3x6 countersunk screw. The 5015 fan is then attach to the other cassis hole by a M3x20 pan head screw. On the second hole of the fan, either a M2,5x6 pan head screw or a 3x6mm tapping screw is used to attach the fan to the adapter.

This way the fan sits tightly in the chassis and is even more silent than the original one.
