Description

The house I own was built by crazy people. The faucet in the bathroom of the basement was leaking. I decided to take care of it and bought the cheapest replacement I could get from the Home Depot. Whole job should have taken less than half an hour but it turns out that the faucet wouldn't seat right on the basin because of the silicone at the top of the threaded sections not fitting in to the holes of the basin.

Honestly I don't know enough to say if the design was just different, or if the previous owner cut the sleeving off the previous one to fit it in. I do know the previous one didn't have a plastic gasket at all and instead an entirely too generous amount of sealant.

Anyways I decided that the best solution to the problem was not to cut the sleeving or make the holes in the basin bigger. I would just make a fat spacer. I followed the included (very thin) plastic gasket included with the faucet and mocked up a few prototypes until I got something that fit properly.

Well, it isn't perfect and the lack of proper symmetry is enough to drive you mad in a lovecraftian horror if you pay attention to it but the fit was perfect for me and it does the job exactly as needed!

I printed this in PETG as it is the most suitable material that I had on hand in a color that almost blends in. Ideally this thing will last for decades so probably best to print it strong and with something durable.
