3D model description

OpenSCAD only 3D-Voronoi Tool

After long searching but not finding something for creation of 3D Voronoi-Cells on Structures of any type, directly from within OpenScad, I was starting to work on it myself and found out how.
The core is a very small function which creates the voronoi chunks/chips from a set of voronoi cores, passed to the function. The resulting 3D Structure can be substracted or intersected with any of your designs. Place the voronoi-points along or inside your structure, call my function and substract the resulting voronoi structure from yours.

I have, as an example, created some geometric primitives and applied my function on them. See the STL-Files or the Screenshots or the Photos of Parts.
In principle it is possible to use it on any object.

The calculation time goes with NΒ², so that a lot of cores cause (lot of time) times a (lot of
time) calculation time. So start with small numbers of cores in the beginning and only on finalization let it run e.g. over night.
The results are worth the time and very outstanding, as you have Voronois wrapping around your object. Or better to say, they go through it, because the principle is based on 3D Voronoi Cells.

See the files published here and let me know, if you are interested in the library.

I have developed it in my free time, as I love openSCAD and also Voronoi-Patterns and find them very attractive. Some friends say, they look spacey and futuristic.

Since I found out about this way of voronoization from within openSCAD and the first things printed, my 3D Printer has already orders until christmas. Because the desings are not only attractive to engineers. :-)
The cool thing about 3D Voronoi-Patterns is, that for production rapid protoyping is the most reasonable way to build them, and the injection molding principle for big series can't be applied here. It is not possible without extremely expensive form-building with shifters. So each part is a valuable individual thing! Great for gifts!
Design spacey futuristic art yourself! Not only Candle Holders, possibly. :-)

If you like it, I will send you the complete code with further explanations for very little obligations and keep you updated.

Maybe you alread did nice things and they can profit from a new Voronoi-Design?

Maybe the tool can help you reduce matter and weight from your design in a cute way?
It may Save you Expensive Resin or other material and at the same time win something regarding the appearance of your structure.

The library incl. license (source code of cause) is only 15€ for individual use. I think it is worth it. It gives you lot of new opportunities right from within OpenSCAD with no other software around, where before other (expensive?) tools needed to be integrated into the development-chain; causing lot of additional hand-work on each modification.

To register, please just drop me an email and we are in contact about further steps and payment and questions and service and updates.

About the fixed STL files in this "thing", please feel free to use them for anything. I will upload more pieces soon.

Best regards, and thanks for any Feedback!

PS: I am still working on features of the Lib and several examples. It is also possible to Voronoiizze already present STL files by importing them in the SCAD Scene as a child to my module (if they are correctly boundary represented). e.g. by
" 3D_VoronoiizzerAKL( type="CYLINDER", dim=dim,
n=120, thickness=2, walls=20, round = 3, seed = 9,
showDots=false, renderit=true) import("cat.stl");"

To those of you, who were registered, I will also share the updates of the code and examples in the future by mail.
More examples will follow soon.

Those who don't like to use my library may use the 1cbm big Voronoi-Structure STL and intersect this with own structures, to get a voronoid output. ;-.
