I printed a collection of stars in assorted sizes for my children's room to serve as wall decorations. I strategically placed them across the wall at a height that keeps them out of reach. To optimize the use of the printing bed, I created and uploaded six print profiles for different sizes and thicknesses (regular thickness = 0.72mm). For the color scheme, I chose a variety of Silk-PLA filaments, predominantly in shades of blue to reflect my two sons' preferences, along with a few golden accents for contrast. After experimenting with numerous settings to achieve the smoothest possible finish, I'm pleased with the outcome—and most importantly, so is my wife.
I utilized UHU patafix (Link*) to affix the stars to the wall, applying a single adhesive pad per star, which proved to be an effective method. However, take caution if you're using very light or translucent filaments, as the adhesive strip may be visible through the material. For such cases, you may need to either increase the thickness of the stars manually or opt for a different mounting solution to avoid any aesthetic issues.
