Model boundaries are 3rd Ave. to 8th Ave. and 30th St. to 56th St.

Even larger version of Manhattan w/ the East River & Hudson River: https://makerworld.com/en/models/111838

Notable included landmarks:

  • Times Square
  • Madison Square Garden
  • Chrysler Building
  • Rockefeller Center
  • Grand Central Station
  • Bryant Park + New York Public Library

For a square version that includes more of Manhattan, check out my NYC Midtown Manhattan (Square) model!

Collection of my other miniature cities: https://makerworld.com/en/u/1935755220/collections/146964

Printing & Slicing Details

This model was designed to be printed with a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.16mm layer heights.

Try using a 0.2mm nozzle (0.08mm layer heights) or scaling up for even finer detail!

Note: If roads or other small details disappear after slicing, try lowering the extrusion/line width of external perimeters (outer walls) closer to 0.4mm OR use Arachne walls (can also enable “Detect Thin Walls”).

Framing Details

This model measures almost exactly 6.7in by 4.7in (170.5mm X 119.5mm) and should fit most 5x7 frames (assuming frame lip/overlap is around a quarter inch). Feel free to change the scale/size of the model(s) to meet your needs.

Personally I use these cheap frames from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C8HY7YSQ

And blue printer paper: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006IDQT

I also included a fully printable frame (including a 1mm thick water plate) designed to fit all my miniature cities.

Gif of the Printable Frame

A frame is not required! This model looks great by itself and can be displayed almost anywhere.

Hey there everyone, if you are like me and you decided to print the frame thinking it was big enough to fit well sorry! Looks like the author made the size of this map too big. The good news is I did some research to alleviate this problem. If you already spent the time to print out the original model here are the new scale options you will need to add to the frame for it to fit the enlarged model. Unclick uniform scale and change x to 101%, y to 102%, and the Z axis should not be touched. That should allow you to salvage the build. If you found my comment before printing good news as well! Here are the changes you need to make to the Manhattan model itself for it to fit the universal frame. Be aware you are changing size this time not scale. Change x to 170.50, and change y to 119.50. Z axis should not be touched. Here is some proof via screenshots. Author if you see this, please fix this. It's only going to annoy people. Please like to bring it to the top.

Wow! What a model…great print on the P1S with stock settings. Want to try printing again with a .2mm nozzle to see what more detail I can get. My only gripe is the One Vanderbilt building next to Grand Central…I get that this model isn’t 100% accurate, but that building doesn’t look like that, nor does it tower over the Empire State Building in real life. Odd detail given how good the rest is. Minor issue. Also, pretty sure I printed the accompanying frame as is and it’s about 1mm to small on the top and the sides. Maybe I scaled something without realizing? Going to try reprinting and double-checking measurements.

Same here. Frame's a bit too small. It can be easily fixed. I am remixing with wedges added so they hang centered on a nail or screw. Though.. hope the CG doesn't cause it to hang at an angle if it's heavier on 1 side.
