Description

Rapid fire fun with this Gatling-style disc shooter. Shoot up to 5 discs per second, with a magazine capacity of 32 discs. Shoots up to 8 meters (or more?). Easy to print and assemble. Requires a rubber band to drive the firing pin. (Size 16 rubber bands work great.) Or use 2 or three bands in parallel for more power. The disc ammo prints up quickly - about 90 seconds per disc. The speed-load cap lets you pre-stack discs for quick re-loading.

Please play responsibly, meaning: don't shoot at your siblings, pets, neighbors, etc. And don't use this outdoors. The discs will get lost instantly and are a potential hazard for wildlife, as well as becoming obnoxious litter.

Printing
All parts should be printed in PLA with no supports. Print one piece each of the body, crank, firing pin, and snap ring. Print one or more of the cap pieces, as the spares can be used for quick re-load. Print lots and lots of the discs. I've also included a playing card target holder that you can print if you like.

Assembly
First apply a tiny dab of oil or light grease to the axle and cavity that holds the crank. Slide the crank onto the axle then clip the snap ring over the groove in the end of the axle. Note that the snap ring has a bevel one one side of the inner diameter. This bevel should face the crank.

Next, slide the firing pin into the slot in the back of the body. Hook your rubber band over the hook on the end of the firing pin, slide it into the slot along the barrel, and then over the hook at the nose of the shooter. Test fire with a single rubber band before adding additional rubber bands.

Operation
Stack up to 32 discs onto the center core of the cap. Tilt the shooter upside-down and slide the cap into the ammo tube, pressing it into place. When shooting, rotate the crank forward with a continuous clockwise rotation until a disc is fired. Half cocking the firing pin will allow a disc to drop but potentially jam. Have fun, play safe!

The disc is in with the raw model files. This is something that got imported over from Printables.com, and I haven't generated a 3MF file for it yet.

Nice work, but what is the part looking like T for?

Oh, that little part is a card target holder for holding up playing cards or business cards as targets.
