3D model description

In fly tying we need several bobbin holders, an essential tool. Many people have a single expensive model with a ceramic tube for example (+/- €30) and are forced to cut the wire to change spools. Cheap models (€5 to €10), made in India or Asia, often apply too much tension on the finest threads.

As I don't like changing bobbins while tying and I like to have several flytying bobbin already loaded and ready to use, here is finally my 3D printable bobbin holder model with the following characteristics:
- Standard size;
- Easy to print
- The disc allows the tool to be held firmly between the thumb and fingers, which is quite classic but from my point of view is much superior to other models with a cylinder for example.
- The leaf spring spool holder allows for uniform tension, neither too strong nor too soft provided you use filaments that do not break when bending.

The tube is designed with versatility in mind: the diameter works equally well for tying small flies, large flies and streamers.
The glide in the tube is excellent and allows a wide variety of wires or tinsel to be used.
I tie small nymphs very easily with floss line.
Loading a bobbin: this model loads like all models, even while sucking up the thread.

My fly tying models are designed for FDM 3D printing. They are designed to meet the specific needs of fly fishermen. They are designed/printed/tested several times in real tying situations by me until optimal results are obtained. Please note that I use these fishing accessories myself.

Infill: 100%
Filament :This time again, I prefer PETG filament which offers an excellent compromise between hardness and flexibility. The memory effect, although it also exists with PETG, is much less significant than with PLA.
