Description

Wasn't thrilled with the print times and filament usage I was seeing on a lot of the existing designs so here we are with yet another desiccant dryer basket, just over 100g and a hair over 2 hours to print.

Seriously, this is as simple and fast as it get. No thrills, no threads, no multi-color craziness, I didn't even bother to make a cap for this thing.

When you load it in, the models look like they have a solid bottom (and they technically do), but the trick is letting Bambu Studio do all the heavy lifting by setting the top and bottom layers to 0 and the infill to 45% grid.

Obviously you'll want to use a high temp filament (PETG, ABS, ASA, etc.), a clean plate, ensure that the printer is REALLY dialed in (the first layer of the grid can be a pain) but, aside from that, it's as easy as Just load the 3mf and trust the process.

Once it's done just jam the two halves together, use some temp-safe glue if you want, fill it up with desiccant and drop it into your favorite upright filament dryer of choice (Sunlu, eSun, etc).

The attached Fusion 360 file is full parameterized so you can adjust height/walls/openings/etc.

Very good design. Fit together well. It would be nice if you would refind the model and add snaps or prisoner edge. I printed it with Clear PC, got a major hotend jam halfway up, and had to start over. I printed it with a 0.60 nuzzle and 0.36 layers, but it still took 2.14 hrs / 83g. It's a bit flimsy, but it certainly will do the job. Thanks

It printed great in PETG and fits great in my sunlu dryer. I just have to reprint it in something like ABS, because it deformed after heating to 70C :-)

this design printed amazingly well. I was looking for a basic design to use to dry desiccant as well and was not feeling the long pint times. this is the answer.

I too have been looking for a quick printing light weight drying basket. Clever how you got the “screen Print” on that 45%. Just what I was looking for. Printed in BL Clear PETG.

the design is very good and unique. I wondered why the hole at the top was a tear drop shape and when I went to unload the beads it was readily obvious! great thinking. mine was printed in PETG but still warped but that is likely cause I ran my heater a bit high (70C)
