Description

This giant spacer / washer allows you to use nearly every filament spool out there in combination with the Adjustable Spool Holder for Silica Gel / Spool Weight / https://makerworld.com/de/models/17406#profileId-18065

I ran into the following problems:

  • Sunlu spools are too big in diameter.
  • Sample spools like 250 and 500 gramm ones are too small in width.
  • There are even spools that have both problems.

This print is the solution for all of these problems.

Print 2 of them and you can use nearly every single spool I have seen so far.

Even if you are using a filament dryer like the Sunlu S1, S2 or S2+

Just attach it to both sides of your printed silica holder.

The spacer is 90mm in diameter and 4mm thick.

It fits perfectly on both parts of the original Adjustable Spool Holder for Silica Gel / Spool Weight.

After attaching it you can use spools with a minimum width of 32mm+ and an inner diameter of approximately 85mm.

This should solve any problems you can ran into with the original Holder.

I'am using this combination for a very long time with 12 little bags of dryable silica-gel inside and for what i can tell you so far is that when you are drying your filament you are also dry your attached silica bags.

Two birds with one stone ;-)

Here is a picture of the silica bags I use:

And the best part of this is…

The spacer is not just for one specific type of filament spool manufacturer.

It is for ALL of them.

Print Settings:

2 Perimeters with 5 or 10% Infill

Note:

I used PETG but if you just want to dry PLA or PETG at 50°C it is not necessary.

PLA works perfect too.

Hope you guys like it and will print a bunch of these. :-)
