Description

update 04/05/2024

If you want a printing method that is easy to maintain, you can consider my redesign:

Reverse Blade Collapsing Katana - Rurouni Kenshin

https://makerworld.com/en/models/414234

update 01/12/2024
This knife is a one-piece printed design. If you are not sure whether the filament you bought can print this work well, you can refer to my new creation "Nichirin Samurai Sword". This work uses a split printing design to facilitate future maintenance and blade replacement.
Nichirin Samurai Sword : https://makerworld.com/en/models/135353

Reverse Blade Sword mini

This is a smaller version of the Reverse Blade Sword, with a total length of about 80cm, suitable for A1 mini printers or people who don’t want to print too much. If you want to experience the full size, please go to https://makerworld.com/en/models/111322

Notice
It is recommended to use PLA+ and Textured PEI Plate for printing.
If the viscosity of the plate of your 3D printer deteriorates, be sure to use glue to increase the grip to prevent the printed part from falling off halfway and wasting filament.

After printing, please remove the support at the end of the knife.

Repair of fallen blades
This work has been printed and verified on P1S, A1, and A1 mini printers and resized. It is currently tested using three materials: Bambu PLA, eSUN PLA+, and eSUN ePLA-Matte.
The blade surface can be freely expanded and contracted without falling off.
However, since PLA material is not resistant to high temperatures, if it is stretched and swung back and forth many times quickly, it will cause the blade to be heated and expand, causing the blade to be thrown out.
At this time, you can repair it with a simple method. Please use a tape with high viscosity that is not easy to fall off, such as Acetate Cloth Tape.
Stick it on the entrance where the blade falls off. The amount of tape can be adjusted to increase or decrease the size of the enlarged hole. Then push the blade down and plug it back into the entrance to repair it.

Amazing. First time printing remotely over the phone. I came home with the sword ready. At first glance, it opens by itself, holds beautifully and looks good. I'm excited. Thanks a lot for this great model. :)

I don’t know why this is happening. the first time i printed this it was flawless and i used red PETG basic. i wanted another one so i used a blue-gray PETG basic and the first time it did this then i did it again but i used my computer to download it and it did the same thing what is wrong? Also i noticed that the first one i printed that was perfect is bigger by the size of my pinky *Update* I measured out the size of the original one and the one that didn't work. The original one was 22.4cm and the one that didn't work was 21.5cm. I found the original one was 104.5% of the original. So printed it at 104.5% and it was perfect. So I assume that if you are using PETG you have to scale it up like I did because all of the other comments used PLA at the normal size and it was perfect.

I did nothing other than clicked send to printer, It worked fabulously. My daughter was super super happy. From one of the pictures you can see I used it as a reward for doing her flashcards every day for two weeks. Be careful whipping it open as some pieces may fly out.
