Description

Like many kitchens faucets with a pull out hose, there is a small plastic insert in the neck to protect the metal and hose from damaging each other when the hose is pulled out or put back. This plastic insert on my faucet wore out and broke and this is a copy to replace the original.

There is a small cutout around the retention nub to allow flexing when inserting, but will probably break off if you try to remove the insert from the faucet.

Printed in PLA at 0.2mm layer height. Takes 2.21g of filament and 17 minutes on Bambu X1 Carbon. Thinner layers and a more durable material may be desirable to extend life of the replacement.

Installation notes:

Make sure water is turned off and have a towel handy to catch water if you need to remove the hose. On my faucet, the nut on the hose side is too big to fit through the plastic bit, so I had to remove the hose by releasing the quick connector under the sink and removing the weight so the hose could be pulled all the way out through the neck. Even with the water off, the hose holds quite a bit of water and will spill out when disconnected. Install the plastic insert then re-install the hose and turn water back on.

You should not have to disassemble the faucet, but I took this opportunity to inspect and de-scale the aerator.
