Description

This is a body cap. I decided to make them instead of losing the body pins all the time.

Works the same way as the Proline ones, but i made one with a 8mm washer under the cap, and one with 15mm washer. Both of them are the same size otherwise, goes on an M3 screw. For bigger vehicles you can use an M4 screw. but for this, you have to scale up the caps with about 25%.

Print the 8mm version upside down(with the hole up). This way it doesn't need support.

For the 15mm version, it doesn't matter.

HOW TO INSTALL

First: this thing needs irreversible modifications on some parts of your rc car.

You have to trim your bodyposts. Put the body on your car, and see how much of the bodyposts sticks out from the body. Mark that point, and remove the body. Look for your markings, and cut down the bodyposts slightly beneath(like 0.5-1mm) the marking. Make sure the cut surface is flat and has about 90 degree angle with the bodypost. Then mark the middle of the bodyposts freshly cut surface, and drill a hole(like 2.5-2.6mm diameter) into. This is where the M3 screw will go. Now take an M3 grub-screw with the lenght of 10-15mm at least. Drive it into the drilled hole, but make sure there is 5-6mm of the tread sticks out from the bodypost! Depending on the body, there might be more needed.

In the meantime, the printer made your new caps, so you have only one thing left: secure your body with the new caps, and your truck is ready to go.

Alternatively, you can use a regular m3 screw, and cut down its head, but personally i wouldn't recommend this method, since cutting down the metal could generate heat, which can deform and ruin your bodyposts.
