Description

My first light box designed and posted here. I changed a few things that I've seen to be almost standard on a lot of other light boxes I see out there.

The front face and outer walls/frame are meant be printed in as one piece, face down. The back panel is separate and can be glued into place.

The back panel also has holes for a rocker switch and panel mount power jack. I wanted a clean box with no holes in it or cords running out of it.

I stuck the light strip to the outer frame/walls and put some aluminum/metallic tape on the back wall to help reflect the light evenly.

This did require minimal soldering to attach the wires to the power jack & rocker switch.

front looks great and prints awesome. the back is very thin, and makes the final part feel cheap. going to try making some tweaks and if they turn out I’ll upload a remix. the added holes in the back are great and fit with the suggested hardware as well.

I made the back 1mm thick to make for a faster print and use less filament. It works for the purposes of a light box. I have a another design I made with a local school logo that has a 2mm thick back plate. I wouldn't go much thicker than that if you intend to use the same parts I posted. Otherwise, it will be too thick for the tabs on the switch to lock in place.
