Description

This a double spiked yarn holder. One is attached to the base plate, the other is removable. Each one has a compatible disc. There is an additional file for a smaller spiked plate and disc that is good for smaller balls of yarn. The smaller spiked plate is designed to nestle in to the double one the same way as the first.

I printed this on a Bambu P1P. I tried it in both PLA Basic and Metal. There is no need for a brim or supports.

In my prints, they were immediately ready for use with no clean-up. 0.2 mm layer and standard strength.

With all these yarn holders I find that they can be slippery. On all of mine I attached a small amount of rub backing or no-slip material to the base. Below is a link the amazon page for the stuff I used, but I think there are better options.

I made this for my wife for Christmas, and when she needs to work with two yarns at once. the only issue, is that the yarn Skains come too tight, and they pull on the spindles, rather than sit on them to spin. it would be nice if the spindle base is designed to fit under the skain holder, and spins freely no matter how tight the skain sits on it.. But I really love this design!
