Description

FRUITGUARD: Go green with the Fruitguard. It stays on your kitchen counter so you can dispose of all your vegetable peelings and scraps as you cook, to compost later.

FRUIT FLY TRAP: The Fruitguard is made with integrated fruit fly trap. Put a few drops of Fruit fly lure in the fly trap handgrip. Fruit fly's will be trapped in the secondary compartement.

DOUBLE WALL: With an insulating double wall the vegetable waste stays cool and produces less odor and fruit flies!

EASY DISPOSAL: There’s a removable inner circle that holds food waste bags securely in place. The bin also has a convenient grip for carrying out to your compost heap, or collection point organised by your local council.

COMPACT: The 15cm x 15cm x 15cm size is small enough to keep on your countertop, but can still contain a 5 / 6 liter bag.

If you print it with PLA it is not dishwasher safe. Wash it with water below 45 degrees.


Print settings in profile are:
1 wall for the main bucket. 2 walls for the other items
15% infill
PETG or PLA or ABS

I prefer to scale it up to 110% if you have a slightly larger kitchen. This way it fits a bit more food waste.
Only item that needs support is the tiny fruit fly lid!

Construction instructions:
Glue the Lid handle to the lid, make sure its centered with the help of the guide profile.

Nice print It seems like the walls could be made a little thinner (especially the outer walls, but may need some extra reinforcement around the handle area). The finished print in its current form is overly strong and heavy, and it takes half a kilo of filament to print. But overall, nice model. Printed in white as it will be hand painted anyway

The sliced model has 1 Wall for the bucket right? Or did you change it to 2 walls. 1 Wall is plenty strong. Did you find the glue profile guide helpfull or did you go lucky with the location of the lid handle.

Yes, I used the profile provided, with the wall loop set to 1. But I'm thinking more along the lines of reducing the wall thickness of the base model, at least for the exterior wall, which would reduce the amount of infill used. Sparse infill takes 33.3% of the whole model, which is pretty big amount considering that it's mostly a hollow model. However, this may require additional structural support between the inner and outer walls in the handle area. UPD: I didn't use the guide, I used math and pencil :D

this is an amazing design and a very generous thing to share!! I added a charcoal filter on the inside of the lid - not totally sure how effective it will be without airflow there, but I figured it can’t hurt :). I did print the small trap lid twice because the first had some issues with the bottom gap where the tube gets inserted. the second time, I reduced the speed and it was just perfect! thank you so much for sharing this!
