2023 Christmas Ornament - Snow Globe
9 years ago when I got my first 3D printer, I started a tradition of making a new ornament each year for my family and friends. Fast forward to this year's ornament which is a true testament to how far the technology has come. This year's ornament is a snow globe with a semi transparent globe that gives the whole setting of log cabin and trees a winter feel. I hope you enjoy this year's ornament and I look forward to what the beautiful technology that is 3D printing has to come for future years!
Printing Tips
The snow globe was designed to be printed in four main parts:
I printed the ornament seen in the pictures using a 0.4mm nozzle. With that said a 0.2mm nozzle may yield better quality prints but would take much longer on the multicolor parts such as the base.
As you may have noticed, the base with log cabin is 5 colors. In order for this to be printed using a single AMS, I placed a pause in the g-code of the base where you can replace the designated roll of filament with a dark brown for the log cabin. If you are unsure how to do this, this video walks you through the process (not my video):
