Description

This motor was part of my Bachelor's thesis. For making this motor work you'll need:

  • 22pcs 10x7x2 neodymium magnets
  • 6mm diameter steel shaft 100mm length
  • 6008 stator: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004049886661.html
  • 2pcs ball bearings 606ZZ 6x17x6mm
  • at least 100g of 0,6mm enameled copper wire
  • brushless ESC; rpm controller; li-poly battery (at least 2S)
  • 2pcs M4x16 screws
  • CA or epoxy glue to lock magnets in place - glue them with alternating poles! (-N-S-N-S-N-S-)

I printed the rotor from natural PLA but I recommend using carbon-fibre filled nylon, PC-ABS or other high-tech polymers. The rest can be printed from PETG, CPE or PETG-HT, possibly from PLA-HT, I printed the two body halves from PBT and it worked perfectly. It wasn't even hard to print PBT without enclosure. The small parts such as shaft locker and the body-connectors are from CPE which is very similar to PETG. You can just try glueing the two halves together to achieve stator body - part where your bearings and stator will sit.

You'll have to wind the stator in delta configuration and 20 turns (threads) per each coil - 24x20 turns = 480 turns on the entire stator in total. The winding scheme is AaAabBbBCcCcaAaABbBbcCcC colors of the letters are 3 just like 3 phases. For more info I strongly recommend visiting this website: https://www.bavaria-direct.co.za/scheme/calculator/ With the winding I described above, the motor will have 220KV (rpm/Volt) if you solder the wires correctly in triangle (delta). Have fun and be careful, the motor has more torque than you'd expect. (Can't be stopped by hand at certain rpm).
