Outside power outlets are fine, but aren't ideally suited for use with many devices - in my case a problem arose when I created an outdoor mount for my ASUS Wifi MESH Node, which worked great but the power to the node came from a ‘brick’ style plug in power adapter which when plugged into an outdoor outlet is very susceptible to rain getting into, and not ideal at all. The solution i came up with was the shield device you see here, it provides a removable shield to provide an extra level of weather protection for outdoor outlets.
This model is a simple shield that is designed to fit over 115mmx85mm outdoor power outlets (the standard size here in Australia), it has two parts;

NOTE: Please be sensible, the devices you place outside should be suitably weatherproof by design or otherwise well protected from the elements before being placed outside, this shield provides extra protection against water ingress but it isn't intended to provide 100% protection, use with caution.
