Description

Introducing the Latte Lovers Lamp. For coffee or tea lovers alike, the lamp provides a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Utilizing the Bambu Lab LED Lamp Kit paired with Bambu Lab's Jade White PLA Basic creates a warm glow to illuminate the coffee beans and latte art. With the optional steam add on to create a unique look to the lamp. The steam pictured in my image is printed with Bambu Lab's new PETG Translucent filament. Color is Translucent Brown.

2 options for latte art included.

I am using real coffee beans in my image, but I have modeled and included a coffee bean if you wish to print some.

Assembly:

For steam add-on:

Recommended print settings:

3mf file is set up object specific with below settings, but please feel free to use whatever works best for you.

Cup: 4 wall loops - This is to avoid having visible infill (unless you want to add a certain look to the cup, would love to see how different infills look while lit up). Inner and outer brim. No supports (add supports to increase quality of handle).

Saucer: I aligned seam to back of model to hide it.

Steam: 0 infill, 0 bottom layers (to make hollow), 2 wall loops, added 3 layer Raft for support.

Hi, everything works fine on my A1 except the steam. The first layer sticks very well to the PEI plate but after approximately 40% the objekt will be destroyed as you can see in the picture. I would be grateful of you have ans ideas what i can do. Thee rest of the print works fine, thanks for this projekt. Jörg

Thank you for sharing. Very sorry this happened, I definitely don't like to see any wasted material. I have added an additional file name "HollowedSteam". With this, I added some small cross members at the base, I believe this addition plus an Outer and Inner brim would add enough footprint at the base of the model to increase adhesion. These could be cut off afterwards if needed. Hope that works for you. Otherwise, maybe cool plate with glue could help for such a thin model.

Unsure what's going on with the print profile for the saucer, I just can't get it to print properly.

What issues are you having and what slicer are you using? I will try to see what might be wrong.

I used Elegoo White PLA the first time, it turned out pretty good, now with Bambu Matte PLA, I get this. Nowhere near the quality of the first one. I used your preset for two of my attempts with Matte PLA, and my own twice, all failed. Using Bambu Studio

I printed a temp tower with Bambu PLA Matte white and didn't find an issue with the default temps. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to replicate this issue to figure out what it is. Can't find the cause with the settings or model. Have you had any issues with this filament on other models? Also, are there quality issues on the top portion or just on the underside of the saucer?

Great model. Had some minor issues to paint the LatteArt, but that might be because of my used version of orca slicer. At first I was little concerned about the saucer's top finish - but with the filament color it gave the hole thing a nice "wooden-like" touch ;-) Should not have shown it to some colleagues, however. Turned out I had to make some more... Printed with Sunlu PLA+ in brown and white on textured plate (P1S).

Thank you for sharing your make. Looks great, has a wonderful glow. It is difficult to avoid the "step" like finish on the saucer, without of course just flattening the top. But my intention was to cover the saucer with the coffee beans, so I didn't consider it a great deal. I agree it does give it a bit of a wooden look. And I'm glad others liked it too, I encourage sharing. :)

Even without the petg brown, this still looks great. I like the color of the steam. Thank you so much for sharing.

Had to reorient the cup to face down, slightly cutting it, otherwise as in the files, had 2 prints with not good results. The saucer could've been better with a slight design change to eliminate the "stairs" from the layers. Other than that, fantastic and beautiful model! Printed with SUNLU Marble for the cup, Bambu Basic PLA Brown and SUNLU HS White for the heart graphic, Bambu's PLA Red Granite for the saucer and Bambu PETG Translucent Orange for the steam.

As a new designer, I very much appreciate the constructive criticism and feedback. This is what I'm hoping for in order to learn and improve upon future projects. For that, I thank you for providing specific details on what could be better. This project highlighted how I can better utilize angles on certain parts and the importance of smoother surfaces. Thank you for sharing your make (it looks really good) and thank you for providing your feedback.

Can the latte art be printed without having AMS? I would really like to be able to but am newer to the hobby so Im unsure how to go about it. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Absolutely it can. I uploaded models of the latte art for printing without AMS. They were named “Latte Art Layer Change”. If you are unsure of how to setup a layer change, feel free to message me, I’d be happy to help.

okay I saw those but yea I am unsure how to set up a layer change. I know when loading filaments, the process has to move and purge the old and new filaments. will the program stop mid print and remember where to go next?

Without the AMS, assuming you are using Bambu Studio, you would slice the model, then on the layer slider, you would move it to layer 3, right click on the + symbol, Add Pause. The printer will pause at the layer, give you a prompt, then what I do, go into Filament setting on the printer, click on Unload. This will retract the current filament. Then you will insert the new filament and select Load. This will purge the new filament. Then back to the main screen and click on start. It will purge a bit more filament and then pick up where it left off.
