Cinematic Film Lamp
About
Lamp designed to display 35mm Film of all types Movie Film, Trailers Film, Positive Film, or Negative Film. The Film is held upright in viewing orientation. These type of shades are typically mounted sideway which always bothered me. I figured I would fix that. It also freely turns so you can view all sides. I designed it in Tinkercad and printed on a Bambu Lab A1 Mini.
Printing
I printed in Bambu Basic PETG Black for Base and Top (.04 nozzle .2 layer height 15% grid infill with tree supports turned on auto.)
I printed with Bambu Basic PETG in White for Inner shade in vase mode. (.04 nozzle .2 layer height no brim.)
The Inner shade defines the height of the shade. You can print it taller or trim if needed depending on what height you want.
I used PETG for it due to higher temperature properties.
Parts
The lamp was designed with no need for hardware, all that is required is lamp base and glue or rubber bands. I suggest this lamp base from Amazon ASIN# B09W2MQ772 http://tinyurl.com/CinematicFilmLamp The base hole is 40mm or little over 1.5 inches in diameter.
Assembly
Print all parts and stack them up making sure you have hooks pointing to the top on the top and the bottom on the bottom. Cut film to length and attach to hooks one at a time. You can use rubber bands between hooks to hold film on the hooks while constructing. You can glue if you want permanent or just leave bands to hold so you can change the films at later date.
NOTE : DO NOT USE INCANDESENT BULBS. USE LED AS THEY DO NOT PRODUCE AS MUCH HEAT!
Please enjoy printing and personal use but the design is mine and I appreciate you not monetizing or posting remakes. I will be adding different tops and bottoms to account for other shade mounting styles for existing lams in the near future.
