3D model description

Behold, the Legendary Hammer of Sigmar! Lost for millennia, the devastating "Skull Splitter" was awkwardly replicated by the Dwraven Runesmiths. Upon rediscovery, the magical weapon of extraordinary might is now wielded by Emperor Karl Franz.

Ghal Maraz Hammer
The mighty hammer is built in 7 pieces for easy printing and painting, or multi-coloring with filament. Best of all, you won't need supports.

The 7 files in the STL pack (in order of build, top to bottom) are:

  • Ghal Maraz - Point
  • Ghal Maraz - Hammer
  • Ghal Maraz - Handle Top
  • Ghal Maraz - Handle 1
  • Ghal Maraz - Handle Middle
  • Ghal Maraz - Handle 2
  • Ghal Maraz - Handle Bottom

Note: The file GhalMaraz - Whole* is provided for visual purposes on Cults 3D and is not intended for printing (although you're welcome to print it if you wish :)*

Coloring the Legendary Weapon
There are several ways to go about coloring the hammer. For accuracy, print the head and point of the hammer, as well as the Handle Top, Middle and Bottom, in a gold or Bronze filament. Then print the longer sections of the Handle (1 and 2) in dark purple. The red sphere in the hammer's cross can be painted with a touch of ruby red paint.

If you prefer to paint the entire hammer, we recommend using Rub'n'Buff brand wax-based metallic paints. We printed all pieces in black PLA+, then used Antique Gold Rub'n'Buf on the gold portions. For the deep purple, we used Mica Powder mixed with a few drops of Boiled Linseed Oil here's a quick tutorial on that. The sphere in the cross is painted with ruby red. Then the entire piece is sprayed with a glossy clear coat.

DIMENSIONS
This skull crushing hammer of war is BIG! Depending on the size of your printer, it can be a lot bigger - easily big enough for cosplay. At 100% scale and fully assembled, the weapon measures 75.5cm (30in) in length, with the base of the hammer at 16.1x16.1x23.5cm (6.3x6.3x9.3in)

You'll get a nice display model by shrinking each piece to 50% scale. At 50%, it measures 37.7cm (15in) in length (see pictures).

If you want to see just how large you can go on your printer, start with the file Ghal Maraz - Hammer and scale it to the largest size your bed will print. Then scale all other pieces up accordingly.

However you decide to print it, please share your makes. We would absolutely love to see them!

Supports: No
Brim: Yes, on the Handle pieces.

*NOTE: If you have trouble with the longer poles holding in place as they print upward, increase the brim width or add supports for stabilization. Although these STL files do not require supports to print, they can be helpful in holding thin models in place as they grow taller.
