Description

Hi makers !

Summer and the hot weather are coming, keep your pets or children cool with this passive air conditioning system.
When you drive, the air is concentrated and directed towards the interior of the passenger compartment, providing greater freshness than a simple open window.

So your cabin will always cool during your journey  ! And the opening of the window remains limited, guaranteeing the safety of your children or your animals.

How place it : Open your rear window, insert the device onto the window (maximum thickness of 4.5 mm) and raise the window to secure the device. (like the picture)

The device is designed to go on the right side of your vehicle, use the mirror function to have a version for the left side of your vehicle. Off course, you  can put it on both sides.

Print without support, Brim necessary

Add a filter or of some sort and then I will test this model. It seems like it's a great idea, but it's missing that critical component. Nobody wants to funnel debris and insects into their car.

Thanks for your feedback you right, @Okram suggest the same, and i will add an optionnal function for that. anyway, I see that this project interests people, so I will support it and improve it, like an insect deflector, but also other improvements. EDIT : ADD ON for the optional filter is up : https://makerworld.com/en/models/440828

HI there, I added a model with filter and also a separate filter to upgrade the mode. Check the remixes ;)

You should add a grid on back or you will shoot wasps in your car or worse... 😅

I had thought about it, but it would reduce airflow. Worst case scenario, I can rename this project to Bug Collector ? ^^ later I will see about adding a mosquito net system in a future version (perhaps something optionnal)

Could you add a template for a cover for the rest of the window that notches onto the vent? That way the window can be "closed" and air brought in via the vent only.

I thought about it, but it's difficult because of the very big difference in window models, many are more or less curved on the rear part, making the design of such an object almost impossible, but I'm thinking about one solution despite everything

What kind of noise does it make while driving, and what is the max speed you can go with this in the window?

hi Morgan, I haven't noticed any more noise than an open window, but the air flow is greater in the cabin. I tested it up to 90km/h without it moving, I think we can drive faster without problems

We've come full circle back to adding wing windows to cars.
