3D model description
A set of 3D models for printing Ezreal accessories from League of Legends Heartsteel M/V.
Set includes:
- a glove parts with the mechanics of rotating wings (magnetic) and a slot for LED-lightning
- SVG file for cutting parts from transparent acrylic for attaching the floating wings to the glove (there is also a version of these parts in STL format for just 3D printing)
- details on the knuckles for a fabric glove
- necklace with magnetic clasp
- belt buckle
- round pendants on the belts at the back of the suit
- new feature PDF files for checking the size of the parts - print them out and try them on to see if the default size of the parts suits you and change it if necessary!
To craft this set you will need:
10pcs 5x2mm magnets for the glove and necklace, and 4 more pcs 5x1mm or smaller magnets for the clasp on the back of the necklace.
Optional - laser cutting of transparent acrylic mount for wings (plexiglass 2mm thick) SVG file included!
About 150-200 gr of filament if you will use FDM
The gem in the glove can be printed from transparent resin using a photopolymer printer, or you can print a master model, make a silicone mold and cast it in resin.
In the glove there is also a slot for LED-lightning: you can use a narrow 8mm LED strip or COB LED or LED filament, and bring the power wires out through a specially provided channel and attach the power supply and switch to a fabric glove inside the palm.
Tricky part - assembling and painting the central part of the glove. Because first you need to assemble it with magnets and transparent acrylic parts, then before painting you will have to carefully mask the transparent acrylic with painting tape so as not to accidentally paint it. And don't forget to check the polarity of the magnets before final assembly :)
For better sliding of acrylic parts (or 3D printed ones), you can use wax. Just rub the places inside the part where the acrylic rotary fasteners will slide and the fasteners themselves with a piece of wax candle - this will provide the best result (! but be careful and do not stain some of the parts that need to be painted with wax - the paint will peel off from the wax).
In the video with the finished glove, you can see that I change the position of the wings both manually and with a sharp movement of my hand. If you want to do the same trick, you can make the wings a little heavier, for example, print them with a larger infill than 15% (40-70) then they will more easily overcome the force of attraction of magnets and change position with a sharp movement of the hand.
You can glue the hand_glove_plate part under the central part and drill holes in it for sewing to a glove or to a separate sling for putting on your hand. It also has a channel for the backlight power cable. But you can also not use this part and glue the central part directly to a glove or other fabric.
I made a video with the assembly sequence based on my 3D model, but if you have any questions, feel free to contact me!
